On September 10, 1984, the victim, Dennis Smith, was found in his home at 1618 1/2 Edith SE beaten with a clothes iron, stabbed 15 times and shot 6 times.  Investigation showed the victim was a drug dealer.  The two suspects who were from Memphis, TN had been staying off and on with the victim for three days prior to the murder and had gone through $5300 worth of cocaine.
