On February 18, 1997, the police department received several reports of six gunshots,  then a caller who reported the victim was on the sidewalk in front of his home of 436 Indiana SE.  The victim, who did not live on Indiana Street, was found by officers dead from apparant gunshot wounds.   His car keys and two ten dollar bills were found under his body.
